Interviews
If you score well on TOEFL and mathematics exams, you will be invited for an interview with the USA/USA representatives right after the testing. Once we review all applications and the test scores, we will administer the second round of the interviews with the top 20 candidates. The second round of interviews will be conducted via telephone by our representatives located in New York about a week after the testing in Ukraine.
Tips for the in-person interview
- Be yourself
- Be honest
- Be respectful
- Elaborate during the interview and do not use one word answers
- Do not be afraid to ask for clarification if you did not understand a question
- Be prepared to discuss your accomplishments and your goals in life
- Be prepared to find yourself answering at least one question, for which you will need to think on the spot*
Tips for the phone interview
In addition to all of the above, please be prepared to discuss in detail the content of your application materials. We might ask you questions about your autobiography, your essays, the list of the books that you sent us, etc.
*An example of a question, for which you need to think on the spot:
If you could meet any person from the past or present, who would it be and why?
