List of five books

When we ask you to send us a list of five books that you are ready to discuss, we are trying to understand better who you are. We are not trying to check anything in particular, but rather want to see what interests you, and how these interests fit or stand out compared to the rest of the applicants. Please, be honest and don’t try to name books that you think we want you to name. Send us a list of books that you enjoy and want to talk about.

Last year one of our 10 accepted students wrote that five books that impressed her were

  • Friedrich Nietzsche “Antichrist”
  • Albert Camus “The Fall”
  • Chuck Palahniuk “Choke”
  • Sigmund Freud ”Interpretation of Dreams’
  • German Gesse “Steppenwolf”

Another student named the following books

  • Lewis Carrol “Alice in Wonderland
  • Charles Dickens “Dombey and Son
  • Mikhail Bulgakov “Master and Margarita”
  • Aldous Huxley “The Doors of Perception & Heaven and Hell”
  • Mykhaylo Kotsiubynsky “Intermezzo

Don’t these lists of books tell you a lot about their compilers? Now write your own!
